After meeting back in 2003 at university Claire spent 10 years of happiness with Mike before flying to the ultimate city, New York, to be asked the ultimate question. Safe to say New York is a very romantic place to pop the question and now comes a wedding of bright colours, laughter, pure joy and a love that will last forever.
Wanting their wedding to be seaside chic with no exact colour theme Claire and Mike went with lots of bright colours and rustic decor to create their relaxed vibe. Elle came up with an individual design to fulfill the couples brief. "
As we were getting married awayfrom home, Elle really took the stress out of finding a separate florist. When we couldn’t quite put our finger on the style we wanted,Elle summed it up straight away as “funky rustic” –a relaxed house-party feel with our friends and family" Says Claire
They chose the perfect venue to reflect their style and be totally surrounded by sea, sand and sun...Watergate Bay Hotel, Cornwall. Stepping out of the hotel onto the beach is definitely the venue for this wonderful couple and their big day. "Our wedding day took place at Watergate Bay Hotel in North Cornwall. Neither of us are originally from Cornwall but we have spent many holidays there and fell in love with the hotel as soon as we saw it. The hotel overlooks the stunning beach and the décor inside is stylish and modern. It was an honour and a pleasure to have our 55 guests join us in this beautiful location."
We love hearing about our couple best bits and were so happy to hear we could play a part in what Claire considers one of her best moments of the day, " When it was time for the ceremony, a real highlight for me was walking down the aisle and seeing the amazing décor courtesy of Elle at who had a 6am start to achieve the vibrant, colourful and floral look. We loved our “living aisle” – a series of planters with lovely ”wild style” flowers lining the aisle."
We love to help those of you who are planning your big day or are looking for some tips so as Claire and Mike had their perfect day in their dream location we asked if they had any tips for future couples. "One piece of advice we received was to try and take a few moments outside of the wedding celebrations to take it all in. This is great advice but we were having such a great time, before we knew it we had danced the night away! Think about wedding favours which guests can either eat with the wedding breakfast or which they can easily put in a pocket or handbag and take away – you don’t need to spend hundreds of pounds. We went for a box of 3 macaroons made in a little patisserie near where Mike grew up."
Big thankyou to Claire and Mike for their kind words and we are so happy we could be a big part of your huge and perfect day in Cornwall.
